Working Tax Credit cut backs – is this accurate?

It seems a person working 30 hours with the Min wage, who can receive working tax credit (presumably: its not the most lucrative wage) is entitled to £1960 plus £800.

If there is a complete cut the minimum wage would need to be £8.30.

This takes the wage to near the London weighting rate of £9.00 odd (is this the equivalent living wage, although unions are requesting £10 p hour in London)

If the employer doesnt make up the balance then thats a 28% pay cut for workers on 30hrs at £6.50 per hour.

Not very good for NHS cleaners, and basic wage earners.

Comments please – accuracy, facts, opinion all welcome.

We would like encouragement for enterprise and small employers. Outside London matters.
